Noida- A planned city, short for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority majorly famous for crime and jobs. I am writing this because since morning I came across few people who are shocked that I live in Noida and I like it? why? This could be the answer to all of those. I don’t know whether I am the first one to write positive about this city or not but let’s look at this city from my perspective-
People call Mumbai a city that never sleeps. I won’t steal that line but I call Noida a city that random sleeps majorly because of call centers and MNCs that bond people to work in night shift. Call center cabs, late night office goers and most important “Gupta Dhaaba”. You can find food till 4 am in the morning even home deliveries are also available. This city represents a multi-cultural environment where Garhwalis are over stuffed (and I like it). Even in my 8 years’ experience I have never came across with a function where Garhwali songs are not being played.
Transportation: Transportation service is very good. Unlike Delhi, Noida doesn’t have long routes. Whether you like bus, sharing auto, personal auto and last but not the least E-Rickshaw which was revolutionary undoubtedly. Buses are economical and easy to use public transportation which conveniently connects Noida to South Delhi, East Delhi, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
Now, special food, most cities have specialty in some kind of food, be it sweets, unhealthy food, unhygienic food, Momos or whatever comes to your mind. I would say Noida’s specialty in food is Paratha. Yes, you read it right. Paratha. You can find Paratha stall or Gupta Dhaaba almost everywhere in the city. Momos can also be considered but not as compare to Paratha and a cup of tea always adds a different flavor to the foodie environment. I like being here very much.
